Laundry Room A central laundry room that caters for the residents with several industrial machines for washing and drying will be provided.
Green Area and Sit Out Spaces The development will come with lots of greenery with a zen garden and sit out spaces where residents and their family can relax.
Security/Police Posts A security house and a police post will be considered in the design. Ideally, these will be strategically located at the point of entry/exit to the development.
Parking Adequate parking spaces will be provided for tenants and visitors.
Waste management An important part of this development is the design for sustainable waste management. As such, the blocks of maisonettes will be designed in such a way that it permits for easy collection of waste, preferably from the service areas in the back. Systems that allow for the classification of waste will be designed e.g. colour coded waste bags for the different types of waste (e.g. domestic, organic, hazardous, etc.).
Gym, Club House and Spa The gym will be exquisitely and spaciously designed. In designing gym, special attention will be paid to the spatial requirements of equipment, acoustic performance as well as durability of the structure (e.g. steel structures reduce vibration transmission). The finishing will also be durable and easy to maintain. Other requirements include high ceilings and ample circulation space, natural lighting, mild interior design, colour selection and cross ventilation.
The clubhouse will be designed with Afro-themed furniture and fittings with spaces for a bar, grill, and lounge with an unrestricted view of the swimming area. Special attention will be paid to the design and arrangement of lounge and bar chairs, space circulation, fire security/escape, acoustic, HVAC and toilet requirements.
The Spa staff, like the Clubhouse staff, will all wear different traditional attire every week, so also the bathrobes that visitors wear while in the spa.
Swimming Pool the swimming pool will be Olympic size, centrally located close to the gym/fitness centre and will have a modification into a stream, to give it an African feel.
African Cultural Art & Language Centre, Restaurant and Museum A floor designated for teaching, learning and experiencing what we have to offer in the beauty of our heritage and culture. The African experience will include a kitchen where African chefs prepare local cuisine for patrons and participants can learn how to prepare these delicacies for themselves.
The Language center will immerse visitors in the variety of languages from each region of the country, providing phonetics and elocution lessons, history and heritage lessons as well for children, as well as adults alike. The centre will showcase African music, movies, as well as a crafts centre to learn braiding, bead making, and visitors can read African literature.
The Museum will showcase an exhibition of different Nigerian culture at different points in time. A rotation of art and artifacts from different regions of the country will be on display seasonally, alongside the display of art from a selection of other African countries.
