The year 2020 was indeed a challenging year, but it was rewarding for the James Cubitt Developments staff because we kept our powerful connection through it all.
On December 11, 2020, we had our retreat at Ilashe Private Beach to commemorate our togetherness. This retreat was unlike the previous ones we’ve experienced. Perhaps, It was because it took place when it seems as though it wouldn’t be possible due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Retreat Arrival
The retreat began with a boat trip. It was a significant adventure that thrilled the team. We all converged at a boathouse in Lekki to take a boat ride to the beach.
The view of the beach from the boat was very picturesque. Its long stretch of white sand and several tropical huts that lined the terrains gave off a cosy ambience and a great aesthetic pleasure.
The event started in earnest the moment all members of the JCD staff had arrived at the beach. We said a prayer of thanksgiving to God and had a sumptuous meal for breakfast.
The retreat got into full swing as everyone participated in one or more fun activity – tennis, swimming, dancing, horse riding, scrabble and many more. Some others utilized this opportunity to catch up on personal matters, and work was a long forgotten issue – you could tell by the smiles that appeared on our faces.
As our fun day progressed, we enjoyed delectable meals for lunch and dinner, and then came the presentation of awards. The MD of James Cubitt Developments, Mr Oyediran Akinniranye, presented several awards to staff members with outstanding work performance and ethics during the year. He also appreciated the team for the strong connection shared that has brought impactful and impressive results.
It was definitely a fun-filled day for all. We took beautiful pictures capturing our fascinating moments at the business retreat.
